FCG integrates ORGUT and SIPU to further strengthen its position as the leading Nordic development consulting group
FCG Finnish Consulting Group Ltd has acquired the entire share capital of the leading Swedish development consulting company ORGUT Consulting AB from its shareholders. ORGUT will be merged with another veteran in the business, FCG’s Swedish subsidiary FCG SIPU International AB.
This transaction implements FCG’s strategy by complementing FCG’s diverse service portfolio and resources in development consulting especially in the fields of natural resource management, agricultural development and climate change adaptation in Africa, Middle-East and Latin America, says the CEO of FCG, Ari Kolehmainen.
FCG’s international business has diversified during the last couple of years, but this move can be seen as strengthening of the existing businesses and Nordic know-how, states FCG’s international business area director Anette Vaini-Antila.
The merger will bring thematic and geographical synergies and improves our capacity to provide a wide range of services along the project cycle ranging from design through implementation to reporting. Our particular interest will be built upon ORGUT’s long experience and thorough understanding of local needs and practices in Sub Saharan Africa. To this end ORGUT Kenya Ltd with its office in Nairobi and vast network of partners will be reinforced in order to serve as a regional hub for expanding activities within the continent. We put emphasis on understanding, working in partnership with local stakeholders to build the ownership needed to achieve lasting change, says ORGUT’s MD Per Giertz, who is also the Managing Director of the new merged company.
ORGUT has over 40 years of experience in international development consulting in over 90 countries in Europe, Africa, Middle-East, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. In Sweden, the merger of FCG SIPU and ORGUT will form the largest and most diversified Swedish development consultant. The new company will surely leave its mark in the tightening competition worldwide. Swedish training business will continue under the name of SIPU.
